Department of Commerce

The Department of Commerce came into existence since inception of Raja Krishnath College of Commerce (02.08.1963) which was thereafter renamed as Berhampore College. This Department is fully enriched with six Whole time and one approved Part time Faculties. Two of them obtained Ph D Degree, one teacher joined the college with M.Phil. degree and pursuing Ph D works and one teacher joined with professional qualifications C.A. & ICWA. All are very much popular & competent in the field of education. Presently there are 140 seats in Honours section and 400 seats in General section. Many of our students passed out from the college with brilliant result and established themselves in the fields of education, Govt. as well as Non-Govt. jobs. Many of them became professionals & successful businessman. Three of our students including two Girls students were awarded Gold Medals by the University as toppers in the Under Graduate Levels. There is a very sound “Students-Teachers” relationship in the department. Students feel free to contact teachers whenever they are in need regarding any academic affairs. Apart from class attendance they used to spend time with teachers in the college library which is fully enriched with reference and text books. The College Administration keeps close contact for all sort of development of the department. The college provides books, computers and others whenever the department needs.
